The full story
History & origin

Native to southeastern Europe and western Asia, horseradish has been cultivated for at least 3,000 years. It was well documented in ancient Greece and used medicinally throughout medieval Europe. German and Eastern European settlers brought it to North America in the early 1600s. Today the United States, particularly the Collinsville, Illinois area, produces a large share of the world’s commercial horseradish supply.
